I have 20 years of experience teaching learners in grades 1, 4, 5, and 6. I have taught in beautiful New Jersey and have found that my passion for teaching has only grown with each passing year. My degrees in Education and Social Work have allowed me to incorporate a holistic approach to teaching, making sure to not only educate my learners but also to support their social and emotional needs. I hold a certification in Elementary Education K-8 and am always seeking opportunities for growth and development. I am confident in my ability to connect with learners of all backgrounds and abilities. I strongly believe that education should be enjoyable and meaningful for learners. That is why I strive to make online learning fun and engaging by connecting the lessons to real-life scenarios. This approach not only helps learners understand the material better but also makes learning more enjoyable. I also make sure to utilize our time effectively and keep the lessons engaging to ensure that online learning is effective for my learners. When I'm not teaching, you can find me tending to my garden, exploring the thrift shops, and spending quality time with my children. These interests serve as a constant source of motivation and inspiration for my teaching style. I am looking forward to getting to know your family and working together to achieve our learning goals. Together, we can make this learning journey a fun and enriching experience for your kids.

I have been teaching for 8 years, working with learners from kindergarten to 5th grade. I have taught 1st grade in all subjects, as well as 3rd-5th grade learning support for subjects like math, reading, writing, and social skills. I have experience teaching in Pennsylvania, so I am familiar with the local curriculum and education standards in this state. In terms of my education, I have a degree in Early Education for grades preK-4th, as well as a degree in Special Education for grades K-8. Additionally, I have a Masters of Education degree. I am also just finishing my last class for a reading specialist certification, which I believe will greatly enhance my ability to support learners in reading. Outside of teaching, my interests include spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, reading, and playing basketball and rugby. I also enjoy going for walks and incorporating movement into my teaching style. I believe that learning should be fun and engaging, and I use a variety of resources and strategies, such as boom cards and interactive slides, to make online learning enjoyable for my learners. Throughout our learning journey, I also make sure to track progress and adjust my methods as needed to ensure that online learning is effective for each individual learner. I am looking forward to working with your family and helping your child reach their full potential!

Hello! I have been teaching at a small, rural school district in Western Pennsylvania for the past 18 years. For the first 17 years, I was at the middle/high school where I taught reading/language arts to grades 7-9 for the first four years and special education grades 9-12 after that. Last year, I was moved to the elementary school to teach grades 3 and 4 learning support reading and ELA. This coming school year, I will teach grade 5 learning support reading, grammar, and math. I have always loved teaching, and my favorite part is seeing how much a student has improved from the beginning of the year to the end. Here is my educational background: In 2005, I graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor's in Secondary Education in English/communications. After a few long-term substitute positions and teaching alternative education, I received my Masters of Education and reading specialist certificate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2007. I then started teaching at the school in which I currently teach, but in 2011, I was briefly furloughed. During that time, I taught reading and composition courses at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and Pennsylvania Highlands Community College. I also received my special education certificate from Waynesburg University. In 2012, I began teaching learning support reading and ELA and have remained in that role since. Outside of teaching, I have four amazing kids! They are ages 15, 12, 9, and 1. Most of my time is spent cheering them on at basketball, football, and baseball; they keep me very busy! I also love gardening and making crafts for my home. I look forward to tutoring your child and helping them to succeed!
