Writing Tutoring for 6th Grade

I have been teaching for 12 years, with experience in grades K-8 for subjects such as Reading, ELA, and Math. Originally from Arkansas, I hold multiple degrees in education including an MAT in Teaching Middle Grades, an MSE in Special Education for K-12, and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership for Pre-K-12. In addition to my degrees, I am certified in Grades 4-8 math, science, ELA, and social studies, as well as Special Education for K-12.

With 15 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of teaching English Language Arts to learners in grades 1-8. My teaching journey has taken me to various states and regions, including DC and MD, where I have had the opportunity to work with diverse groups of learners. I hold a Masters of Education in Elementary Education and have specialized in Accelerating Early Literacy Development from Duke University. My passion for teaching goes beyond the classroom - I am constantly finding ways to make online learning fun and engaging for my learners. I use interactive games and resources, as well as tools like annotation and screen sharing, to create an interactive virtual classroom that allows for meaningful learning experiences. My goal is to ensure that online learning is effective for my learners, and I do this through goal setting, planning, and promoting interaction through annotation and polls. Aside from teaching, I have a variety of interests and hobbies that keep me energized and inspired. I love attending live music events, coaching, and staying active through fitness. In fact, my passion for fitness and coaching has greatly influenced my teaching style and methodology. I strongly believe that consistency is key in both teaching and fitness, and I strive to bring that mindset into my virtual classroom. I am looking forward to getting to know your family and working together to make learning a fun and fulfilling experience for your kids!

I was a classroom teacher for 14 years, teaching reading, writing, and social studies for 4th through 8th grade on the southside of Chicago. I stepped into tutoring with Dojo Tutor in early 2024, a few months after my daughter was born! I hold a Master's in Education from Northwestern and a Bachelor's of Science in History with a minor in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University. I currently hold a professional educator's license as well. My personal interests and hobbies include gardening, singing, playing piano, being active, cooking, and spending time with my husband and daughter.

Hello! I’m Dr. Che'Re Cornett, though my students often call me Ms. Cee or Dr. Cee. I have been in the field of education for 20 years and hold a Doctorate in Education as well as a Master’s degree with a focus in Language Arts. Throughout my career, I’ve taught students in grades 1–7 and have also worked with adults learning to read. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) students using translation tools to support comprehension and communication. Currently, I teach 7th grade History at a middle school. Previously, I served as an Instructional Strategist, where I coordinated and oversaw the Response to Intervention (RTI) process for tiered students. In that role, I gained valuable experience with strategies to support struggling readers and writers. I’m passionate about helping learners build confidence and achieve success, and I look forward to tutoring!

Hi my name is Mrs. B and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With 9 years of experience, I have taught learners in Kindergarten through 8th grade. I have a passion for teaching and have taught a variety of subjects including Art, ELA, Reading, Science, History, and Math. My teaching experience has primarily been in Arizona and I have found joy and fulfillment in connecting with learners in this region. I have a Bachelor of Business and a Masters in Elementary Education, equipping me with the knowledge and skills to provide the best learning experience for my students. I just recently transitioned to be a Middle School Art Teacher and teach 7th and 8th graders. Apart from teaching, I enjoy creating art, reading, watching sports events, attending comedy shows, and traveling. These interests have greatly influenced my teaching style, especially when it comes to teaching art and reading.

Hi, my name is Ms. Joy, and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With 16 years of teaching and administration experience, I’ve had the joy of working with kids from Kindergarten all the way through 12th grade i I love teaching and I am very passionate about it. Learning is a big adventure, and I can’t wait to explore it together! One of my favorite things about teaching is making online learning as exciting as possible. I create fun, interactive lessons that get kids moving and engaged. I love using games and creative activities to help everyone learn better. Plus, I do quick check-ins to see how everyone is doing so we can adjust our sails whenever we need to! My goal is to ensure every lesson feels like a new discovery. When I’m not helping learners shine, you can find me with a book in hand, working out, playing musical instruments like the violin and ukulele, or spending quality time with family and friends.
