Writing Tutoring for 4th Grade

I retired from teaching in May of 2025 after 35 years! I have taught preschool, kindergarten, 4th grade and 5th grade. I have 2 grown children, ages 22 and 25. My daughter lives in Myrtle Beach, I love the ocean so visiting is always fun! My son owns his own business. I have been married for 33 years. I enjoy reading and taking scenic walks and drives, especially near streams and waterfalls!

My name is Yolanda Scott and I am a Second Grade Teacher. I am so excited about the opportunity to work with you and your child. I anticipate very fun and engaging sessions. I have been teaching for 24 years. I transitioned from an AIG Facilitator to second grade. I have one son. When I'm away from school, I spend my time working in my church and spending time with my family. I will be working closely with your child Together we will ensure that your child is growing and being challenged during each session. It is my hope that your child will find his/her participation in sessions full of rich experiences that will inspire their love of learning—both inside and outside the classroom, and throughout life. As we begin this journey together, I hope that we can be partners in providing the best possible education for your child. I will be sending out updates as needed. After teaching for 5 years, I have loved every moment of it. I've taught 1st-5th grade learners, have my Bachelor of Science in Communications and hold a K-6 Elementary Education Certification with an ESOL endorsement. I believe that my love for communication and connecting with learners has helped make my teaching more accessible and relatable. I'm excited to see what growth I can achieve as my time in education continues to evolve.

I have been teaching for four years. I taught second grade for the past four years, and I am now teaching first grade. I have taught many different types of learners including English language learners, special education, gifted, behavioral needs, ADHD, dyslexia, etc. I have a degree in elementary education and masters degree in curriculum and instruction.

I've taught elementary education for the last 14 years. I also tutor my students after school to ensure they are meeting academic and social emotional milestones.

Hi! My name is Karla and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With more than 10 years of experience under my belt, I've had the joy of teaching amazing learners in Pre-K and Elementary grades across sunny California and windy Illinois. To make our online sessions fun and engaging, I use cool resources like Kahoot, Boom Cards, Quizlet, Scholastic News, and more. Also, I love to sprinkle-in brain breaks and reward hard work with fun games. Keeping our time together active and lively is one of my priorities. I truly believe that when kids are having fun, they learn better. Besides that, I like to connect my lessons with hobbies and preferred activities. Whether it's playing sports, baking, or video gaming, we will find a way to tie it all together! Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, getting crafty, and baking delicious treats. I'm also a big fan of sports and thrilling stories in books and movies. I have been teaching for 13 years. Most of this time was spent in first grade, but I have also taught third, fourth, and fifth grade. Currently, I am a reading and math interventionist for kindergarten to fifth graders. I love being able to work with different-age students! I have a strong foundation in teaching strategies and understanding the unique needs of learners. I believe in making learning enjoyable and engaging for my students, especially in online settings. My high energy levels and enthusiasm allow me to connect with learners and make the learning process fun. I also incorporate visuals and interactive activities to keep learners actively involved in the lesson. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, spending time outside, going to the beach, and practicing yoga. I am looking forward to getting to know each of my learners and their families, and supporting them in their educational journey!

Outside of teaching, you can find me cheering on my two daughters, who are elite cheerleaders with Cheer Nation Athletics. As a Cheer Mom, I’ve learned so much about teamwork, dedication, and motivation—lessons I bring into our online classroom!
