Hello families! My name is Dr. Nicholas Donis, and I have the honor of serving as the Founding Assistant Principal at YES Prep North Rankin Elementary. I am originally from New York City and come from a proud bilingual family. My personal journey as both a learner and educator has shaped my belief that every child has greatness within them, and it is our work—as a school community and as families—to help that greatness shine. I have worked in education for several years as a teacher, instructional coach, and school administrator. My passion is supporting students in building strong language skills, confidence in expressing who they are, and pride in their culture and identity. I believe that school should feel like a place where students are loved, challenged, and celebrated.

Hi there! I'm Mr. Elliott (Petrilla)! I'm an educator, performer, and lifelong learner who believes every student deserves to feel confident, inspired, and supported. A proud Teach For America alumnus ('21) living in Baltimore, I have had the opportunity to work closely with students from diverse backgrounds and help them grow both academically and personally. I also have a background in musical theatre, film and television production, and radio broadcasting, and I love bringing creativity and real-world connections into my lessons. Outside of teaching, I enjoy gardening, spending time with my dog Marcus and cat Bebop, and exploring ways to make learning fun and meaningful.

I live in Georgia with my husband and 2-year-old son, Elliott. I love to read, travel, and scrapbook, and I believe these passions help me to bring stories to life and make learning more fun. I taught at Gwinnett County Public Schools for 6 years, teaching both sixth and tenth grade Language Arts. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English.

Hi there! I’m Dr. Kerri, and I bring over 30 years of experience working with middle and high school students to help them learn, grow, and feel confident in their abilities. My specialties include reading support, general academic tutoring, and social-emotional learning (SEL) — all with a focus on helping students feel successful and reducing the stress that homework time can bring to families. I believe learning should be fun, engaging, and encouraging. My approach is about meeting each student where they are, building on their strengths, and helping them develop both the skills and the mindset they need to thrive. Whether your child needs a boost in reading comprehension, help staying organized, or just a little extra confidence, I’m here to help make learning a positive experience. I have been teaching for 3 years, primarily in 5th grade where I teach Science, Social Studies, ELA, and Reading. My passion for teaching stemmed from my own love of learning and desire to make a positive impact on young learners. I have taught in Georgia and hold a BA in Criminal Justice and a MAT in Elementary Education. As an educator, my goal is to make learning fun and engaging for my students. With over 20 years of teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to work with learners of all ages, but my true passion lies in working with elementary and middle school students. I have taught a wide range of subjects including English, Information Science, and Social Studies to students in 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 12th grade. I have taught in various locations such as Nevada, Korea, and Thailand, and am currently based in Nevada.
