Spelling Tutoring for 3rd Grade

Hi, my name is Ms. Silvera and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! I have been teaching for 5 years, working with learners in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. I have taught a variety of subjects including Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. My experience has been primarily in Georgia but I am excited to connect with learners all over the world through online tutoring. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Child and Special Education and a Master's in Education. My teaching style is influenced by my personal interests such as traveling and creating art. I believe in making learning fun and engaging by using interactive tools and hands-on activities. I also use strategies like setting clear expectations, being flexible, and keeping the child's needs in mind to ensure effective online learning. My passion for teaching began 10 years ago and I have experience teaching 4th grade and 6th-8th ELA. I have taught in both Texas and California, but I am currently based in Houston, Texas. I hold a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on English Language Arts and Reading, as well as a M.Ed. in Digital Learning and Leading. In addition, I am certified in English Language Arts and Reading for grades 4-8 and have a supplemental certification in English as a Second Language for the same grade levels. My qualifications and experience have prepared me to work with learners in Kindergarten through 6th grade, and I am eager to bring my expertise to the Dojo Tutor team. My goal is to make online learning both fun and effective for my students. I believe that excitement is contagious and I am passionate about the subjects I teach. By intentionally planning multiple ways to engage in activities, I am able to keep my learners on their toes and make learning enjoyable. I also use pacing strategies to ensure that our time together is effective, checking in with the learner at the start of the session and reviewing learning goals. Outside of teaching, I love to dance and am a certified Zumba instructor. I also enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with my loved ones. These interests not only contribute to my self care routine, but they also influence my teaching style and methodology, allowing me to pour my best self into my students. Hello! My name is Cindy, and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With 17 years of teaching experience, I have worked with learners from Grade 1-5 in Reading and Writing. My passion for education has taken me to the state of IL, where I have had the pleasure of sharing my knowledge and helping kids develop their skills. I hold a degree in Elementary Education K-9, and I am also endorsed in ESL. My goal is to make online learning not only effective and rewarding, but also enjoyable for my students. I achieve this by incorporating fun and interactive elements, such as online word walls, and interactive games. I also use visuals and TPR methods to ensure that my learners understand new concepts. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, walking my dog, and playing guitar. Hi! My name is Mrs. Gordon and I have been a passionate educator for 17 years and am a proud alum of Arkansas State University where I obtained by Bachelor's degree in pre-kindergarten to 4th grade Early Childhood. I have taught kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade literacy, and kindergarten through fifth grade literacy intervention. Currently I am a 2nd and 3rd grade literacy intervention. I am also a proud boy mom and a patient doodle mom.
