Hello! My name is Elizabeth Vázquez, and I have over 30 years of experience teaching young learners. I am passionate about helping children grow academically and gain confidence in reading, writing, and language skills in Spanish.

-Hello! I am Janet Smith ("Ms. J. Smith"), and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! My experience as an Educator of 10 years has allowed me to work with learners in Kindergarten through ninth grades; focusing on various subjects such as Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I have taught fifth-grade Math, Science, and Social Studies, and currently teach fifth-grade English Language Arts (Reading) and Writing. I have also taught sixth-grade Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Science. During the school year, I also tutor seventh and eighth grade math in a state-wide math tutoring program. Although I have served in various leadership capacities at my school, teaching is where my passion resides the most. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy cooking, reading, traveling, and coaching sports. These interests have all greatly influenced my teaching style and methodology. They continue to enable me to connect with my learners on multiple levels, as I incorporate my real-world experiences and acquired skills into any learning setting. My experience and qualifications have enabled me to create engaging and effective in-class and online social and academic experiences for my learners. For me, one of my favorite parts of teaching is experiencing "Ah-HA!" moments with my learners (whether in the physical or digital classroom), and seeing them progress and soar to academic heights - "Grows and Glows" - they did not think they were capable of achieving. I also love seeing the faces of their parents as they realize and witness their children's success. I believe in building strong relationships with my learners and their families by getting to know their interests, personalities, challenges, strengths and all other attributes that make them who they are. This helps me to understand how they each approach learning and how they each retain what is learned. In this way, I am able to customize a learning path that is unique to each student, and that addresses what he or she needs the most to be empowered for Success. I have over twenty years of experience teaching in the classroom, including advanced learners (Gifted/ Talented), Spanish, Reading, English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science. My specializations include grades K-8, bilingual education, Spanish Immersion, reading instruction, teaching writing, supporting students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and international education. Hi! I’m Ms. Garcia, and I’ve been teaching for 28 wonderful years. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s in English as a Second Language, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership/Administration. I’m also currently pursuing my Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership/Administration. I currently teach second grade at Old Pointe Elementary in Rock Hill, SC, and I truly love what I do! Helping children grow in both reading and math is one of my greatest joys. My tutoring sessions are designed to be fun, engaging, and meaningful, with a focus on helping each student feel confident, capable, and excited to learn.

With four years of experience teaching kids from Kindergarten to 9th grade in New Jersey, I absolutely love sharing the joy of learning, especially when it comes to Spanish and Social Studies. My goal is to make each lesson an adventure, where we explore topics in a fun and engaging way! When we meet online, I promise to make our sessions as bright and cheerful as a sunny day at the beach! With over 28 years of experience in education, I’ve had the joy of teaching students from Pre-K through 5th grade and serving as a school administrator in preschool, elementary, and K–8 settings. My passion for teaching continues today through Dojo Tutor, where I love helping young learners grow and thrive. I live in sunny Florida with my husband—my college sweetheart—and our two daughters, ages 7 and 19, who keep life full of laughter and adventure. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me traveling, solving puzzles, or tending to my garden. I believe learning should be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths.

With over 10 years of experience teaching children and 5 years working with adult learners, I’ve had the joy of helping students of all ages grow academically and personally. My teaching career has flourished in the beautiful state of Texas, where I’ve built lasting connections with learners and their families. I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and multiple Texas teaching certifications, including: Generalist EC–6 Bilingual EC–12 Special Education EC–12 Being fluent in both English and Spanish allows me to communicate effectively with diverse families and tailor my lessons to each learner’s unique needs. My goal as a tutor is to make online learning engaging, structured, and fun. I use interactive activities and clear objectives to ensure every session is productive and enjoyable. By fostering engagement, setting achievable goals, and maintaining strong time management, I help students build both confidence and academic skills. Outside the classroom, I’m also a musician and singer—and that creativity inspires my teaching! Hello my name is Viridiana Trevino. Students can call me Mrs. Trevino or Mrs. T whichever is easier for them. I have always had a passion for learning and helping others which is why I became a teacher. I love teaching students of all ages. This is my 18th year teaching and I have taught students in PK to 8th grade and even have tutored some High School students. I am excited to help students learn and grow academically. I have 4 dachshunds and I enjoy reading on my spare time. I love teaching all subjects but reading is my favorite subject!
