Spanish Tutoring for 2nd Grade

I have been teaching for 10 years and have experience teaching learners in grades PK-5th. My passion for teaching led me to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. I am proud to be certified in FCCPC for Early Childhood and TESOL for English as a Second Language. Plus, I am also fluent in Spanish! My teaching experience has primarily been in Florida, where I have had the opportunity to work with diverse learners and families. I am dedicated to making online learning fun and engaging for my students. I do this by incorporating interactive games, engaging slides, and interactive stories/manipulatives into my lessons. These methods have proven to be effective in keeping learners interested and motivated to learn. Besides teaching, I love spending time with my family, reading, trying new foods, and continuing my learning in education. These interests have influenced my teaching style and methodology in many ways. Reading has helped me find new and creative ways to engage my learners, while constantly learning about education has allowed me to adapt to new teaching strategies and techniques. I am always open to suggestions and feedback from families and learners, as I believe it is important to listen and incorporate their thoughts into my lessons. I'm certified for, and have taught bilingual (Spanish) math and science for grades 5, 4 and 2. My prior professional life was in the private sector, and my master's degree is in computer science, which is why I feel so comfortable with technology and incorporate it so much into my teaching. I'm known for creating fun, engaging lessons, and helping students understand and love math!

I am a certified science teacher with degrees in Biology, Health & Society and Secondary Education from the University of Michigan, along with a Teaching Certificate in Integrated Science. I have been tutoring since high school and have classroom experience teaching middle school and highschool science, which has helped me develop a strong understanding of how students learn and what they need to feel confident and supported. Originally from South America, I am bilingual in Spanish and English and value bringing a multicultural perspective into my work. In addition to science, I also tutor math, Spanish, and test preparation for students from elementary school through college.

¡Hola! I lived in Latin America for over 22 years, and my love for languages and cultures is at the heart of everything I teach. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Studies and Global Studies from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, and I’m fluent in Spanish. Over the years, I’ve taught both English and Spanish in many settings—from private academies and universities to personalized tutoring for children, teens, and adults. I truly enjoy helping students grow in confidence and discover how rewarding learning and using another language can be.

As a bilingual educator with 14 years of experience, one of the greatest joys of my profession is witnessing the growth and development of my students. Outside of teaching, my interests include reading and hiking.
