With over 30 years of teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of grades and subjects. As a former 6-12 Math Teacher and K-6 camp/consultant, I have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of math and the importance of building a strong foundation for future learning. Currently, I am located in the South region, having taught in multiple states.

Teaching is my second career, and I chose it after becoming a parent and experiencing the joy of watching my own children grow and learn. I fell in love with education, especially with teaching 5th grade, and that passion has only deepened over time. I love building meaningful relationships with students and believe that humor creates a positive, engaging learning environment. My goal is always to help each child feel supported, confident, and excited to learn. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with your children and partner with you throughout their learning journey.

Hi! My name is Ashley, and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With seven years of teaching experience, I’ve had the joy of working with kids from Kindergarten through 5th grade and in Special Education. I’ve taught in both Texas and California, so I’m thrilled to bring that diverse experience to our 1:1 sessions! To make online learning fun and engaging, I first get to know my learners and personalize their experience based on what they love. Connecting lessons to their lives and current events keeps things lively, and I make sure to celebrate every little victory with positive feedback. My goal? With six years of teaching under my belt, I’ve had the joy of working with wonderful learners in Kindergarten, Third, Fifth, and Sixth Grades, all right here in beautiful Utah. My goal is to make each session exciting and meaningful, ensuring kids not only learn but also have fun while doing it! I believe that online learning can be super interactive and engaging. I like to sprinkle lessons with games, visuals, and plenty of hands-on activities that keep energy high. I make lessons bite-sized so that it’s easier to digest new information, and I always encourage my learners to share their ideas and celebrate their wins, no matter how small! I have been teaching for 5 years, and during that time, I have had the amazing opportunity to work with learners from 1st to 3rd grade and teach all content areas. Hi! I am Melissa and I am excited to help your children on their education journey. I loved teaching, but have retired recently after 25 years of teaching third and fifth grades. I missed having students so much, that I have started tutoring. It is the best part of teaching without some of the more stressful parts! I am a mom of three adult children, two of which have married and given me grandchildren! I live with my husband and 2 dogs on a small farm in Michigan. I love traveling, camping, reading, and taking care of my grand kids.

With 27 years of teaching experience, I have had the pleasure of working with learners from 2nd grade to 8th grade, including Algebra 1. I have taught in Texas, where I currently reside, and hold a BA in Elementary Education and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction. My certifications include Elementary Education 1st through 8th grade and Math 1st through 8th grade. In order to make online learning enjoyable and engaging for my learners, I incorporate a variety of activities and games. I believe that learning should be fun and that kids learn best when they are having a good time. To ensure that online learning is effective, I use questioning techniques and a variety of instruction and assessments. This allows me to gauge my learners' understanding and adjust my teaching accordingly. When I am not teaching, I enjoy listening to music and reading. These interests have also influenced my teaching style as I love to incorporate music and imagination into my lessons. I believe that these elements make learning more enjoyable and help learners to better understand and retain information. I have been teaching for 4 years in preschool, kindergarten, and most currently first grade. I teach in central Iowa! I have been working with dojo since the Fall of 2024. What I love most about tutoring is the one on one connection I am able to make with students from all over the country! I believe in making online learning enjoyable and effective for my learners. I do this by incorporating their interests into our lessons and using a variety of activities. I also keep a perky pace and use engaging topics to ensure learning is fun and impactful! Outside of teaching, I enjoy crafting, reading, journaling, dirt biking, snowmobiling, baking/cooking, playing video games, rock hunting, and hiking. I love using my personal interests to connect with my learners and make our activities fun and interesting! I hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education Unified with a minor in Anthropology. I have been teaching for 25 years and have experience working with learners in Kindergarten through 5th grade. My teaching journey has mostly taken place in Maryland where I have taught in various schools. I have a BA in history and psychology and a MS in elementary education, providing me with a well-rounded understanding of different academic subjects. In addition to my educational background, I also hold Pre-K to 8th grade teaching certification and have received National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist.

With 4 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of guiding learners in grades K through 4 in various subjects. My experience includes teaching in the beautiful state of Georgia, where I have had the opportunity to connect with diverse families and students. My Bachelor of Education degree has given me the foundation to create engaging and accessible lessons for my learners. In addition, I hold an ESOL endorsement, a reading endorsement, and I am IB certified, all of which have enhanced my teaching skills. I am fluent in English and passionate about incorporating technology and interactive activities in online learning to keep lessons exciting and effective. To ensure that the learning process is effective, I believe in breaking down lessons into manageable steps and creating personalized goals with my learners and their families. By incorporating their interests into lessons, such as games and activities, I make sure that my learners are actively engaged and motivated to learn. In my free time, I love to travel and try new foods, and I love for spending time outdoors. My teaching career has led me to Pennsylvania, where I have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in K-8 elementary education and K-12 special education, as well as a Master's Degree as a reading specialist. In addition to my extensive experience and qualifications, I am also a National Board Certified Teacher. I believe that every learner deserves to feel supported and understood, no matter their learning style or needs. That's why I have also taught in Autistic support, emotional support, and early intervention programs. When teaching online, I know the importance of making the experience enjoyable and effective for my students. That's why I use games and allow my learners to choose from a variety of review activities. To ensure effectiveness, I set goals with my learners and encourage them to work in a dedicated study space, free from distractions. Outside of teaching, you can find me indulging in my personal interests, such as perennial gardening and spending time in nature with my dogs.
