Coding Tutoring for Preschool

My name is Mrs. Amy Leone, and I am a passionate and engaging educator! I have been teaching for 33 years at the same school, and I have experience in grades 2, 3, and 4, as well as STEAM PreK-5 teaching coding and robotics.

I have been teaching for 14 years, primarily working with learners in Kindergarten through 6th grade, this gives me an understanding on how each grade level's learning fits within the larger picture of a student's long range learning. I have taught all subjects, but for the last 8 years, I have focused on math with secondary subjects of reading or science. I have experience teaching in IL, KY, IN, and CO, which has allowed me to work with diverse groups of learners, understand multiple state standards, and understand different learning styles. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and I am certified in K-8 Self-Contained Elementary Education.

Originally from Oklahoma, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and an Oklahoma Teaching Certificate. I am passionate about making online learning fun and engaging for learners by bringing a fun attitude, using engaging material, and personalizing content just for them. To ensure effective online learning, I use various strategies such as using the learner's name, repeating expectations, redirecting unwanted behaviors, and being aware of their environment. Outside of teaching, I love to use my video editing skills, playing video games, watching movies/TV shows, spending time with family, and woodworking. These interests also influence my teaching style as I try to incorporate technology whenever appropriate. I was born and raised in South Florida, attended college in North Carolina, moved to California to work with elementary students, then returned to the east coast, settling in Maryland to teach, tutor, coach, and develop content.

Hi my name is Mrs. Vogel and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With over 10 years of teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to work with learners from Kindergarten through 8th grade. My teaching experience includes being a K-2 Instructional Strategist and teaching subjects such as Computer Technology and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). I have also taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 6th-8th grade Computer Technology.

I have 2 years of experience teaching Kindergarten in sunny Florida. I hold a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education and I am a FLDOE certified teacher. In my classes, I use fun and interactive games to keep my learners engaged and motivated. But it's not all fun and games, I also have effective strategies in place to ensure that online learning is just as effective as in-person learning. I frequently utilize tools like screen sharing, annotation, and breakout discussions to keep my students active and involved. And I always check in with my students to make sure they are understanding the material. Outside of teaching, I love reading and traveling. My experiences visiting different places, such as Washington, DC, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Jamaica, have allowed me to incorporate cultural, historical, and geographical insights into my lessons. This helps my learners see the topics we're learning about in a global and real-world context.
