Hi families! I'm Krystal, and I've worked in Head Start, kindergarten, and completed student teaching in 2nd grade. I love helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and feel proud of their progress.

I have been teaching for 24 years and have experience teaching K-6 ELA and Math in North Carolina. My passion for education led me to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with an Elementary Education in grades K-6 add on, a Master's in School Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Aside from teaching, I enjoy spending time with my son and supporting him as a proud baseball mom. Watching him grow on the field has taught me the importance of teamwork, patience, and consistent encouragement - values that I bring into my tutoring sessions. I also enjoy reading, working out, and finding ways to stay organized and inspired. These interests greatly influence my teaching style, as being a baseball mom has taught me the value of collaboration and patience, while my love for working out helps me stay energized and focused.

I studied at the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's in Biological Sciences, minors in Chemistry and Economics, and Certificates in Conceptual Foundations of Medicine and Global Health on the pre-med track. I have tutored in various subjects like Algebra, Writing, Reading, Biology, and Chemistry to elementary, middle, and high school students since I was in high school. I have been teaching for 12 years, specializing in grades 1-5 in various states including New Jersey, Oregon, and Washington. My passion for education led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology, with an emphasis on building positive learning environments and promoting growth in young learners. I am also a certified elementary teacher for grades K-6. In my spare time, I love to read, hike, bike, explore new restaurants, and spend time at the beach. These interests also influence my teaching style as I love finding ways to connect with my students through shared hobbies and interests. As an online tutor, I strive to make learning fun and engaging by using interactive stories, math manipulatives, and collaborative writing activities. I have been teaching for 14 years and have experience teaching students from Kindergarten to 6th grade in various subjects. My teaching journey has taken me to Georgia and the United Arab Emirates, where I have had the pleasure of working with diverse learners and families. My degrees include an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology and a Masters in Educational Leadership. With these qualifications, I am well-equipped to utilize technology and improve instructional techniques to support learners' success. In addition, I hold teaching certifications in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, and Instructional Technology. These qualifications, combined with my years of experience, have allowed me to continuously improve and adapt my teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of my students. My goal is to make online learning enjoyable and effective for my students. I achieve this by incorporating interactive tools, props, discussions, and games into my lessons. I also use interactive assessments, such as lesson games and quizzes, to ensure that my learners are engaged and understanding the material. Aside from teaching, my interests include reading and writing. In fact, I have even written a children's book! I also love to travel and have found that it has made me more aware and sensitive to cultural differences. I believe that my passion for reading, writing, and experiencing new cultures greatly influences my teaching style and methodology, allowing me to bring excitement and enthusiasm into the classroom. I was raised in a family of educators. I always wanted to be a teacher. I enjoyed teaching 8 years within different classrooms and settings. I taught 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade, as well as tutored in-person for 3 of those years. This has given me an advantage to see how concepts develop and are used for education purposes and life skills. I look forward to applying my knowledge and expertise to tutoring online!
