Hi! I'm Ms. Byrd, and I bring 10 years of classroom experience to my tutoring. I have a diverse background, having taught middle school English, high school U.S. History, and AP Seminar. Beyond my teaching expertise, I also hold a law degree, which allows me to offer comprehensive support in various subjects. While reading and English are my specialties, my experience covers a wide range, including Social Studies, writing, math, science, and Spanish. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy baking, gardening, or getting lost in a good book.

Hi my name is Mrs. Colon and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With more than 12 years of experience in education, I have taught Special Education for grades K-5 and 10-11 in both Virginia and New York. I hold a Master's degree in English Education and Special Education, and my teaching certifications include Special Education and English. Besides English, I am also fluent in Spanish. I believe in making online learning fun and engaging for my learners. That's why I use interactive activities, sound effects, music, and movement to keep them engaged and excited to learn. I also incorporate online games to make learning more interactive and enjoyable for them. To ensure that online learning is effective, I use various strategies such as task checklists, timers, rewards, and thumbs up thumbs down. These not only help my learners stay on track but also make learning more efficient and goal-oriented. When I am not teaching, you can find me indulging in my personal interests and hobbies such as reading, writing, crocheting, watching movies, and spending time with loved ones. I love to incorporate my passions into my teaching style, whether it's through finding high-interest books or incorporating singing and movement into lessons. I am excited to bring my unique teaching style and experience to help your child succeed in their learning journey.

I have been teaching for 20 years, primarily focusing on Special Education Reading, Writing, and Math for learners in Kindergarten through 8th grade. My passion for teaching and supporting students with different learning needs has led me to teach in various states and regions, but I am currently based in Washington. I hold a MA in Teaching, with a focus on Special Education. My teaching certifications include Special Education, Elementary Education, and ESL. Outside of teaching, my personal interests include camping, hiking, crafting and reading. I believe that reading not only helps to expand our knowledge and understanding of the world, but it also helps to foster creativity and imagination. While my interests may not directly influence my teaching style or methodology, they do help me bring creativity and fun into my lessons.

Hi! My name is Jacqueline, but everyone calls me Miss Jacki, and I’m so excited to begin this learning journey with your child. I’ve been tutoring for one year and have worked with students from Kindergarten through 9th grade all across the United States in online classrooms. Reading is my passion, and I love helping learners discover confidence, joy, and excitement in their reading skills. In my free time, I like to tie-dye, work on crafts or play with my pets.

I'm Dani! I am currently a 5th grade teacher at a local public elementary school. Some of my favorite moments teaching involve connecting scholars to the world around them through literature, writing, and a strong focus on global citizenship. I also focus on instilling a love of math and learning! I have experience teaching high school at various levels of English Language Arts, including AP Composition. I also have experience tutoring AP and college level humanities courses. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a mental health crisis counselor for 15 years. I worked with children, families, adults, and in school settings. I also have experience as a gymnastics and swimming coach. Throughout all these years, I worked closely with teachers and other counselors to ensure scholars felt safe in their classrooms and at home. I have a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and my bachelors in sociology. My ultimate goal is a PhD in curriculum development.
