Reading Tutoring for 3rd Grade

I have 24 years of experience teaching learners from Kindergarten through 10th grade in North Carolina. My passion for teaching started when I obtained a BA in English Education and continued as I pursued a MA in Curriculum and Instruction. Along the way, I also received my AIG certification for K-6, as well as 6-9 English Language Arts and Curriculum Specialist. As an experienced educator, I understand the importance of making online learning both fun and effective for kids. That's why I always strive to create interactive lessons that keep learners engaged. Whether it's using games, interactive videos, or other online resources, I am dedicated to making each session enjoyable and educational. I also believe in using positive reinforcement and attitude to ensure my students feel motivated and encouraged to learn. Aside from teaching, I have a variety of personal interests and hobbies. I am always up for trying new things and love encouraging my learners to do the same. I especially enjoy reading and watching game shows, as well as spending time outside. In fact, I am currently learning how to play pickleball! My diverse interests definitely influence my teaching style and methodology. I always strive to create a positive and welcoming learning environment where my learners can feel free to explore and try new things, just like I do in my personal life. With 18 years of experience both in the classroom and as a Paraprofessional, I have had the pleasure of working with learners in 4th and 5th grade for ELA and Social Studies. My passion for teaching has allowed me to share my expertise and knowledge with students, making learning fun and engaging for them. I have been fortunate to teach in the great state of Kansas, and I am excited to bring my skills and experience to Dojo Tutor. I hold a degree in Elementary Education K-6 which has equipped me with the tools and resources to effectively facilitate learning for young learners. I pride myself on my ability to make online learning enjoyable and effective for my students. I love to be interactive and creative, using fun topics and student-led activities to keep learners engaged. Hi my name is Ms. Sam and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With 14 years of teaching experience, I have worked with learners from Kindergarten to 12th grade in various subjects such as English Language Arts, Multilingual Language Learners, and Exceptional Education. I have taught in Tennessee and hold a BA in English, MEd in TESOL, and MS in Library and Information Science. Additionally, I am certified in K-12 Comprehensive Exceptional Education, Teaching English as a Second Language, and 6-12 English Language Arts.

Hi, my name is Miss Mica and I am grateful to have started my teaching career in August 2005. Over the years I have taught fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade in North Carolina. I also had a chance to work in early childhood for four years. I was able to work as a Preschool Teacher Assistant in the NC-Pre K classroom. Teaching ELA, Social Studies, World History, and Science has provided me with ways to look at learning in new ways while working with some amazing students. I have been able to start working as an online tutor in November 2025 and it has allowed me to take my love for teaching to another level in a rewarding new opportunity. I'm so excited to be part of the Dojo Tutoring company to be able to reach more students and families as I strive to make a difference.

Hi! I am Michelle Evans. I have been teaching for 10 years. I have a Bachelors in General Education and Special Education with a reading endorsement. I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education with an Autism Endorsement. My teaching experience is 3rd and 4th grade. I have taught general education and special education, Digital Class, and a Hybrid 3rd grade digital/4th grade in person. I have taught reading, writing, math, science, and social studies as well as Social Emotional Learning. I have led computer instruction during digital teaching and ran an afterschool club for "Girls Who Code", where I led coding lessons for girls. I feel like I have seen it all! Outside of teaching, I am happily married to my husband Daniel. I have 2 adult children, Chandler and Hayley. We are a proud military family and we travel a lot. I love to explore the world around us and share that with my students. I love baseball, the outdoors, reading, animals, and music. I have 2 lizards, Mark and Sarah, and I have the sweetest cat, Sherbie, who only has 3 legs and is always a fun topic for students.
