I have been teaching for 13 wonderful years, and I am so passionate about guiding and supporting young learners in their educational journey. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught a range of grades and subjects, including Pre-K, 1st grade (all subjects), 2nd grade (all subjects), 3rd grade (math and science), and 4th grade (reading and writing). My expertise lies in elementary education, with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education, a Master's in curriculum and instruction, and a specialist degree in early childhood education. I have had the pleasure of teaching in the beautiful state of Georgia, where I have learned so much from my students and their families. In terms of teaching certifications, I hold a deep understanding and love for the littles in Pre-K and Kinder. I love 1st and 2nd grade and currently teach 1st. When it comes to online learning, I understand the importance of making it fun and engaging for my learners. That's why I incorporate music, games, and other interactive resources to keep my students actively participating and learning effectively. As a hands-on person, I also use total body response to make learning more dynamic and enjoyable. Outside of teaching, I love to dance and even teach ballet. My love for singing also influences my teaching style, as I believe incorporating music into the classroom can make learning more memorable and enjoyable for kids. I am excited to share my passions with your child and help them grow and thrive in their educational journey!

With 28 years of teaching experience, I have taught a wide variety of learners from Kindergarten to 3rd grade. My expertise lies in teaching Early Childhood Education, English as a Second Language (ESOL), and reading literacy as a Reading Specialist. My passion for teaching has taken me to two different regions - Georgia, U.S., and Johannesburg, South Africa. My Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and Master of Science in Early Childhood Education, with a Specialization in Reading and Literacy, have provided me with a strong foundation in teaching and learning. One of my main goals as a tutor is to make online learning enjoyable and effective for my learners. To make learning engaging, I use interactive methods that make my learners excited to learn. I believe in setting goals, reviewing progress, and making adjustments with modifications and enrichment when needed to ensure that online learning is effective. Outside of teaching, I love to travel, do Pilates, and read. These interests not only bring joy to my life, but they also help me with problem-solving, self-awareness, and adapting my teaching style. I’m thrilled to be a part of Dojo Tutor and connect with families and learners in a virtual learning space. As a tutor, I am dedicated to creating a positive and nurturing environment for learners of all ages. Let’s work together to make learning fun and rewarding for your child!

Hi, my name is Ma Ismela. You may call me Ella, and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With over 22 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of working with learners in grades PK-2nd. I have taught in international schools in Manila, Philippines (8 years) and Seoul, South Korea (5 years). I taught for 5 years here in Nevada, where I had the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives. I was nominated 'Teacher of the Year' at the regional level in 2021, and I won 'Heart of Education' for 2022, both recognitions are from CCSD (Clark County School District). My passion for teaching and helping students reach their full potential is what drives me every day. I hold a BS in Psychology and an MA in Special Education. Additionally, I have several teaching certifications and special qualifications, including a Generalist Special Education certification for K-12 and an Autism License for individuals aged 3-21. In addition to my teaching qualifications, I am fluent in Tagalog, one of the Filipino languages. As an educator, I am committed to making online learning both fun and effective for my students. I achieve this by creating an engaging, interactive environment centered on the learner. By being mindful and present, I can tailor my teaching approach to meet each student's unique needs and interests. I also use strategies such as interactive materials and praise to ensure that online learning is not only enjoyable but also effective in helping students achieve their goals. In my free time, I enjoy baking, doing arts and crafts, and hiking. These interests definitely influence my teaching style and methodology as I incorporate creativity and hands-on activities into my lessons. I believe that learning should not only be educational, but also fun and exciting. I'm excited to embark on this learning journey with you and your family!

Hi! My name is Morgan, and I’m excited to start this learning journey with you! I’ve been teaching for 9 years and have experience supporting elementary through high school students across multiple subjects. I currently teach high school special education and hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Over the years, I’ve taught English/Language Arts, Math, Civics, Personal Finance, Wellness, Study Skills, Physical Education, and have also worked as a substitute teacher for Kindergarten through 8th grade. I have a strong background in special education and believe that every learner deserves to feel supported, valued, and capable of success. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading and playing video games, which actually influence my teaching style. My love for reading inspires me to help learners develop a lifelong appreciation for it, and my enthusiasm for gaming helps me design lessons that are interactive, motivating, and full of opportunities for critical thinking and problem-solving. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Master's degree in Reading, and an Education Specialist degree in Leadership. In addition, I am certified in Elementary Education, Reading K-12, and hold an ESOL Endorsement. I believe that every child is unique and has the potential to succeed, and I am committed to helping your child reach their full potential. I do this by connecting with my learners, celebrating their successes, and incorporating fun-educational games into our sessions. I also use a variety of presentation tools and educational resources to ensure that my learners are actively engaged and learning in a way that works best for them. My interests and hobbies outside of teaching, such as reading, enjoying nature, and spending time with my family, influence my teaching style and methodology, making it a more personalized and enjoyable experience for my learners. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and working with them to achieve their academic goals. I believe that all kids have the potential to succeed and with the right guidance and support, they can reach their full potential. Expert 1st grade reading support, built around your child

First grade is when children are expected to become readers — decoding words, building fluency, and beginning to comprehend what they read. The gap between strong and struggling readers often widens significantly during this year.

At Dojo Tutor, our 1st grade reading tutors work 1-to-1 with your child on the specific skills they need. Whether it's phonics patterns, sight words, fluency, or comprehension, sessions are tailored to your child's level with engaging, systematic instruction.

With personalized support during this critical year, your child can become a confident, capable reader.
