I have been teaching for roughly 13 years. I love my job. I have taught all subjects, but my passion is math.

Hello families. My name is Lisa Papa and I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade reading, writing, and mathematics for 25 years, 20 of those years at a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. I have extensive experience in and resources for these areas. I have tutored kids in reading, writing, and mathematics grades PK-9 throughout my years as a teacher and I have conducted reteach and enrich groups for reading and mathematics as well. I have read thousands of children’s books so if your child is a reluctant reader I can recommend books they may like based on their interests or other books they have liked in the past. In addition to my years of experience, I have taken hundreds of hours of professional development classes in reading, writing, and mathematics including classes with Barry Lane, Sue Yokum, Fred Jones, and other reading, writing, and math masters and leaders. I look forward to being a partner with you and your child's teacher to help your child on their educational journey. My goal is for every student to love learning and to feel success and happiness at school. I know at the top of the profile in the Quick Look section it says I have 22 years experience, but then when you read the paragraph about my teaching experience it says 25 years. I have been working with Class Dojo tutoring since it started in 2022 and the Quick Look info hasn't been updated since then, but I do update my profile paragraph regularly so it has the most up-to-date information for you. I thought it was important you know why the numbers seem like they don't match.

Hello, my name is Dr. James Ray, and I am excited to join you in your learning journey! With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, I have worked with learners of all ages and backgrounds. My primary teaching has been in music, which I have taught to students from grade 4 through college level. As a math tutor, I combine my experience in working with kids with my own math background; I've studied math through early calculus, and I use and interpret statistics in my scholarly work. With 27 years of experience, I have taught a variety of subjects from Kindergarten to 8th grade including Math, Science, ELA, Reading, Social Studies, Art, and Computer Tech. Hi my name is Mr. Teal and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With 10 years of experience teaching Mathematics to learners in grades 6-12, I have developed a passion for making math not only understandable, but enjoyable. I have taught in both Tennessee and Mississippi, giving me a diverse set of skills and techniques that I bring to every session. My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, an MBA, a Master's in Accounting, and a Master's in Teaching. In addition, I hold a teaching certification in Mathematics for grades 6-12. Hi, my name is VirginiaRose, but my students call me Ms. Rose. I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With more than 5 years in the education world, I’ve had the joy of guiding learners from Kindergarten to eighth grade. In Colorado, I was a middle school reading interventionist for 2 years then taught 2nd grade for 1 year. While I have tutored and wanted to be a teacher since high school, I really fell in love and completed my licensure while I was an educational assistant for grades 1st-3rd for three years. While I have LETRS training (in-depth reading training based on the science of reading) and have had a focus on teaching reading in small groups, I can’t wait to help students discover the magic of learning for any subject.
