For the past 15 years, I have been teaching a wide range of subjects to learners from Kindergarten through 9th grade. My passion for education led me to pursue a B.A. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. I have had the privilege of teaching in various schools throughout Illinois, where I have honed my skills and developed effective teaching strategies. In my online sessions, I strive to make learning fun and engaging for my learners. I use a variety of mediums such as videos, learning games, incorporating students’ interests, and even music and hands-on activities. I believe that by making learning enjoyable, learners are more motivated to participate and retain information. To ensure that online learning is effective, I set clear and obtainable goals, provide plenty of opportunities for practicing targeted skills, and progress monitoring. By using data, I can identify areas for improvement and adjust my teaching approach accordingly. Outside of teaching, you can find me biking along the lake front, listening to music, dancing, or tuning into story-telling podcasts. My personal interests greatly influence my teaching style and methodology. I enjoy incorporating music into lessons and integrating multiple subjects to make the learning experience more enriching. I also love sharing my own experiences with learners to help build rapport and create a more comfortable learning environment. I can't wait to meet you and your family and embark on this learning journey together!

Hi! I am Andrea and I am excited to work with your child. I have been teaching for 8 years now. I taught Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd during my first two years in teaching and transition to SPED class where I taught one-on-one and students who are socially/emotionally challenged for a year. Currently, I'm teaching children with Autism in an intermediate class for 4 years. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Elementary Education specialization in Special Education and recently got my Master’s Degree in Special Education as well. I have two teaching licenses: Philippines & USA. Teaching these children and seeing them grow and learn as an individual gives me a sense of fulfillment. I help them set a goal up and always motivate them intrinsically and extrinsically to reach their goals. As a teacher, I make sure that the learning is fun, effective and incorporates their interests. For example, if they like Disney princesses or sports, then I’ll use it as part of my lesson and of course as a reward for them. During distance learning, it challenged me how to teach these children virtually. Fortunately, with the training sessions I attended and resources I had, it made the teaching fun and enjoyable to the children. I incorporate different styles of learning such as body movements, discussion, picture aids and more. Learning online can be so exciting and enjoyable. I can’t wait to meet you!

I have been teaching for 4 years and have experience teaching learners in Kindergarten through 6th grade in a variety of subjects, including Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies. I have taught in both Alabama and Florida, gaining a diverse range of teaching experience in different regions. I hold a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education and have a Florida Teaching Certificate and Reading Endorsement. My goal as a tutor is to make learning enjoyable and effective for all of my students by using a hands-on approach and implementing different strategies. To make online learning fun and engaging, I like to incorporate interactive activities into my lessons. I encourage learners to answer questions on their screens by writing or clicking on the correct answers. This not only helps to keep learners engaged, but also allows me to assess their understanding of the material. In addition to this, I make sure to frequently pause and check for understanding before moving on to new concepts. This ensures that learners are able to grasp the material and make progress in their learning journey. Outside of teaching, I have a few hobbies that I am passionate about. I am a dance instructor, which influences my teaching style by allowing me to create songs, chants, and movements to help learners understand certain concepts. I also enjoy drawing, which comes in handy when drawing out math problems to better visualize them. And lastly, I love spending time with my dog, King! He helps me make real world connections and adds a fun element to our lessons. I can't wait to get to know you and your family and help your kids reach their full potential in their education!
