Hi! I’m Ms. Smith, and I’m thrilled to begin this learning journey with you and your child. With three years of experience teaching Kindergarten through 2nd grade in Connecticut and Georgia, I create engaging and fun learning environments for young learners. I hold a Master’s in Teaching and am certified in ESOL, allowing me to support diverse learners effectively. I believe every child is unique and deserves personalized attention, which is why I’m passionate about 1:1 tutoring. I have been teaching for 10 years in Kentucky, teaching learners in kindergarten through 5th grade in subjects such as math, reading, and writing. I am currently a Curriculum Specialist, so I get to teach all students grades K-5 at my school and coach teachers. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (grades K-5), a Master's degree in Literacy (grades K-12), and a Rank 1 certification. I am also trained in Orton Gillingham Phonics and LETRS to support my learners' diverse needs and learning styles. In my online sessions, I believe in making learning fun, engaging, and personalized for each child. I strive to involve learners in activities that spark their interests, such as playing games, using manipulatives, and connecting with their favorite topics. I also incorporate movement and hands-on activities to keep our sessions active and promote a love for learning. Through my lessons, I aim to foster curiosity and critical thinking skills in my learners, encouraging them to explore and discover the world around them. Outside of teaching, I enjoy being on the go! When I'm not teaching, you can find me outdoors walking my dog, hiking, exercising, or spending quality time with my loved ones. My active lifestyle often influences my teaching style, as I know I learn best when I'm moving, so I try to keep my learners engaged and active in our sessions. I also love reading and exploring, which helps me stay curious and inspires my teaching approach. I am excited to share my passions with you and your family, and I can't wait to learn and grow together with my learners!

The first half of my life was lived in California. The last half of my life is being lived in North Carolina. I enjoy decorating and styling my home which works very well with my interest in crafting. Many years ago I had a hobby farm with chickens, goats, sheep, and alpacas! I have recently moved to another state and I have plans to create another animal wonderland.

With 45 years of teaching under my belt, I’ve had the joy of guiding learners in subjects like ESL, English, Reading, Writing, Spanish, Social Studies, and I’ve even written and directed plays. I've traveled the world, teaching in places like Virginia, New York, and all the way to Thailand (Peace Corps) , Korea, and Singapore! Outside of teaching, I'm passionate about genealogy, drama, and creative writing. I also enjoy studying world religions, which helps me appreciate different cultures and histories. These interests fuel my teaching style, making each lesson an opportunity for discovery and connection. No matter where we are, I know we can make learning fun and engaging. I believe that learning should be relevant and tailored to the unique needs of each student. That's why I sprinkle my sessions with interactive tools, fun games, and a good dose of humor. I love to create a personal rapport with my students, ensuring that each lesson feels like an adventure where we can explore new ideas together. I want my learners to be excited about what they're learning! I hope to meet you and share the wonders of learning together!

Working with children has always been my passion. I’ve been a licensed teacher since 2016 and tutor since 2011. I am now studying to be a child and family therapist and love getting to tutor through Class Dojo while earning my Master of Social Work degree.

Hello families! My name is Ms. Tiara, and I am passionate about helping students grow academically, emotionally, and creatively. I’ve worked with learners ages 3–17 across a wide range of subjects, including reading literacy, math (from foundational skills to advanced concepts like algebra and trigonometry), writing, phonics, science, and social studies. I also have experience in SPED, ABA strategies, and supporting students with dyslexia, autism, ataxia, and other diverse learning needs.

Hi! My name is Gavin, and I’m a college student who enjoys helping students learn and build confidence in their schoolwork. I’m patient, supportive, and focused on explaining concepts in clear, easy-to-understand ways that match each student’s learning style. I have a strong background in math and problem-solving, and I especially enjoy helping students who feel stuck or overwhelmed. I also played football for many years, which taught me discipline, teamwork, and how to encourage others. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also truly understand the material and feel confident doing it on their own.

I’m a lifelong educator with 23 years of teaching experience, and I’ve had the privilege of teaching every grade from 1st–8th (except 2nd grade!). My background has given me a deep understanding of how students learn at every stage and what they need to feel confident and successful. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in: English Language Arts (ELA) Social Science ESL (English as a Second Language) Exceptional Learners I also have a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and I currently serve as an adjunct instructor at the college level, helping future educators learn how to design powerful, student-centered instruction.

Mrs. McKay is a veteran educator with nearly twenty years of experience teaching middle school students at a Catholic school. Throughout her career, she has specialized in helping students build strong mathematical foundations, develop confidence, and discover their own problem-solving abilities. She currently teaches fifth and sixth grade math, where she focuses on making challenging concepts accessible and meaningful for every learner. In addition to her classroom work, Mrs. McKay has spent many years tutoring students of all ages—from kindergarten through high school. Her tutoring experience spans early numeracy skills, middle-school math, algebra readiness, high school coursework, and ACT/SAT preparation. Whether she is helping a young learner master multiplication facts or supporting a teen through advanced test prep, her goal is always the same: to identify learning gaps, strengthen essential skills, and empower students to approach math with confidence. Mrs. McKay holds a master’s degree in education and brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work as a tutor. As a mother of two daughters in sixth and eighth grade who have learning disabilities, she understands the emotional, academic, and logistical challenges families face when children need extra support. This perspective allows her to work with students and parents with patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help each child succeed. Outside the classroom, Mrs. McKay enjoys spending time with her family. Together, they love visiting zoos, museums, and other places that encourage curiosity and hands-on learning. These experiences fuel her belief that learning should be engaging, connected to the real world, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths. Mrs. McKay welcomes new tutoring clients and looks forward to helping students grow in skill, confidence, and a positive mindset toward math.

I have been teaching for 3 years, primarily in 4th and 5th grade, covering all subjects. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach in Illinois, specifically in the Chicagoland area. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree and am certified to teach all subjects for grades 1-6. I also have a Middle school ELA endorsement for grades 6-8. These qualifications have allowed me to have a well-rounded understanding of the subjects I teach and the age groups I work with. In addition, I am currently pursuing my master's in library and information science at Louisiana State University, with a focus on Children's Librarianship and early literacy. Outside of teaching, I have many interests and hobbies that keep me creative and always learning. I enjoy reading, practicing yoga, crocheting, drawing, pottery, and gardening. These interests have a direct connection to my teaching style and methodology. They help me to think outside the box, be creative with solutions, and constantly push myself to learn and grow. With 12 years of teaching experience, I have had the pleasure of working with learners in grades K-12. I have taught in various settings, including classroom teaching for grades 3-5, Title I for grades K-5, and tutoring for general elementary and middle/high school ELA. My experiences have allowed me to teach in both New Hampshire and Vermont, and have given me a diverse perspective on education. I hold a degree in Elementary Education and History, and have previously held elementary teaching certifications in both New Hampshire and Vermont. To ensure effective online learning, I believe in making it fun and engaging for my students. I use games and programs like Prodigy to keep learners excited and motivated. I also focus on each child's individual progress and strengths, rather than comparing them to others. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, creative writing, and crafting.
