I have been teaching for 12 years, primarily focusing on grades 6-8 and 9-11 in subjects such as English Literature, Math, Social Studies, and ESOL in the sunny state of Florida. In addition to my Bachelors of Arts and Sciences in English Literature and Bachelors of Education, I hold multiple teaching certifications in English, Social Studies, Math, ESOL, and Reading. I am passionate about creating a positive and engaging learning environment for my learners. I believe that learning should be fun and relevant, which is why I love incorporating games into my lessons. To ensure that online learning is effective, I make sure to carefully plan my lessons and keep my technology updated for seamless online sessions. Outside of teaching, I have a love for interior decorating, which is evident in my interactive and visually appealing presentations. I have been teaching for the last 6 years, with 3 years spent teaching at a high school and the other 3 years teaching at summer school. My experience teaching covers grades 9-11 in Math II and Math III. I am originally from West Virginia, where I hold a West Virginia Teaching Certificate. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Math and a Masters of Arts in Teaching for 5-adult learners In my free time, I enjoy running and reading, but I also have a passion for learning about different technologies. This interest has greatly influenced my teaching style and methodology, allowing me to use a variety of technology tools in my teaching. I believe that staying updated with the latest technology can make online learning more engaging and effective for my learners. As a tutor at Dojo Tutor, I strive to make online learning fun and engaging for my students. I understand that online learning can be challenging at times, but I have found that game-based learning is extremely effective in keeping kids interested and excited about learning. I use various platforms such as Kahoot, Blooket, Jeopardy Games, NearPods, and Desmos activities to make learning more interactive and enjoyable for my learners. Moreover, I also use strategies like warm-up exercises, modeling, and note-based introductions to ensure that online learning is effective for my students. Hi! My name is Raye Lynn Weaver, and I’ve been an educator for over 21 years. I’ve taught PreK through 7th grade in math, reading, and writing, and I’ve also served as an academic facilitator, Title I math coach, and educational diagnostician. I’m passionate about helping children build strong foundational skills that lead to confidence and success. I’m a Dyscalculia Delegate for the state of North Carolina, and I’m currently working toward National Board Certification and Applied Behavior Analysis certification. I’m also certified to teach exceptional children and academically and intellectually gifted students.

With 15 years of teaching experience, I have helped countless learners in grades 2nd-8th in all subjects. I have taught in both Texas and Alaska, bringing my unique teaching style and love for learning to diverse communities. My passion for education has led me to earn an Associate of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor's in Multidisciplinary Studies with an ESL endorsement. As a Certified EC - 8 Generalist and EC - 8 ESL Supplemental, I am dedicated to providing a quality education for all learners. My teaching style is human, story-based, and empathic - always putting the needs of my learners first. I believe that learning should be fun and engaging, especially in the online setting. I bring high energy levels, interactive activities, and focus on building strong relationships with my kids and families. This not only creates a positive learning environment but also encourages active participation and retention of information. Outside of teaching, I am an animal rescue enthusiast and an outdoor enthusiast. Whether it's hiking, camping, or canoeing, I love spending time in nature and exploring new places. Hi! My name is Iris and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! This is my sixth year teaching and I have taught math for 4th-8th grade and religion for 5th-7th grade. I have also tutored younger grades after school. I teach in Florida and hold a BA in Mathematics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Judaism and Jewish-Christian Relations, and an MA in Theology. My teaching certification is in Mathematics for grades 5-9. My goal as a tutor is to make online learning fun and engaging for my students. I believe that incorporating games and providing encouraging feedback are key to keeping kids interested and excited about learning. I also make sure to give assessments that require critical thinking and encourage learners to ask questions. This not only helps them better understand the material, but also teaches them valuable skills for independent learning. Outside of teaching, I enjoy walking, yoga, and watching movies. I have been teaching for 10 years in Kentucky, teaching learners in kindergarten through 5th grade in subjects such as math, reading, and writing. I am currently a Curriculum Specialist, so I get to teach all students grades K-5 at my school and coach teachers. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (grades K-5), a Master's degree in Literacy (grades K-12), and a Rank 1 certification. I am also trained in Orton Gillingham Phonics and LETRS to support my learners' diverse needs and learning styles. In my online sessions, I believe in making learning fun, engaging, and personalized for each child. I strive to involve learners in activities that spark their interests, such as playing games, using manipulatives, and connecting with their favorite topics. I also incorporate movement and hands-on activities to keep our sessions active and promote a love for learning. Through my lessons, I aim to foster curiosity and critical thinking skills in my learners, encouraging them to explore and discover the world around them. Outside of teaching, I enjoy being on the go! When I'm not teaching, you can find me outdoors walking my dog, hiking, exercising, or spending quality time with my loved ones. My active lifestyle often influences my teaching style, as I know I learn best when I'm moving, so I try to keep my learners engaged and active in our sessions. I also love reading and exploring, which helps me stay curious and inspires my teaching approach. The first half of my life was lived in California. The last half of my life is being lived in North Carolina. I enjoy decorating and styling my home which works very well with my interest in crafting. Many years ago I had a hobby farm with chickens, goats, sheep, and alpacas! I have recently moved to another state and I have plans to create another animal wonderland.

With 45 years of teaching under my belt, I’ve had the joy of guiding learners in subjects like ESL, English, Reading, Writing, Spanish, Social Studies, and I’ve even written and directed plays. I've traveled the world, teaching in places like Virginia, New York, and all the way to Thailand (Peace Corps) , Korea, and Singapore! Outside of teaching, I'm passionate about genealogy, drama, and creative writing. I also enjoy studying world religions, which helps me appreciate different cultures and histories. These interests fuel my teaching style, making each lesson an opportunity for discovery and connection. No matter where we are, I know we can make learning fun and engaging. I believe that learning should be relevant and tailored to the unique needs of each student. That's why I sprinkle my sessions with interactive tools, fun games, and a good dose of humor. I love to create a personal rapport with my students, ensuring that each lesson feels like an adventure where we can explore new ideas together. Working with children has always been my passion. I’ve been a licensed teacher since 2016 and tutor since 2011. I am now studying to be a child and family therapist and love getting to tutor through Class Dojo while earning my Master of Social Work degree.
